The magic man had many tricks in his repertoire. However, he was only famous for one. His closing act. The magic man wore many disguises. From the little boy who cried in his bedroom, to the stuck up teenager in the class. He was always wearing one. But there are many problems with wearing a disguise. You always have to be certain that not a single utterance of yourself can be seen through the mask. But alas, if you are successful at this, no one will ever know the true you. Or even worse, the mask becomes your skin. As with the case of the magic man.
He went by the name of Peter, a quiet boy with average intelligence. A clever disguise so that he wouldn't stand out. But he did anyway. He was beautiful, not by his looks. But by his entire demeanour. The girls were drawn to his sensitivity and attention to detail. The boys were drawn to his natural air of mystery. Many people wanted to be Peter's friend, and he was glad to.
Peter liked playing sports and taking scenic photographs. He said the combination entitled him to live life and watch it simultaneously. He loved to watch the snow fall and on many occasions he had stayed up all night, watching the flakes dance in their descent. He appreciated the value of a single rose and his favourite type of sky could be found, less than an instant before a thunderstorm.
It wasn't long before someone fell in love with Peter. He claimed to love them back, but he didn't really. He just didn't want them to feel bad. In truth, Peter never loved anyone. Maybe it was because there was no one as perfect as he was. But more than likely it was because, no one knew the real Peter.
He was tall and lanky with scruffy, dirty-blonde hair and walnut brown eyes. The magic man looked almost identical, only he wore different clothing.
It was a Tuesday, when the relic of the magic man resurfaced. He went out and walked alongside the river which ran through the forest. He stopped when the river branched, as he did not know which direction to follow. And it was on that spot, where he performed, what was later to be known as his closing act.
His magic hat was found floating in the river. But by the time anyone had reached the scene. The magic man had disappeared
